Plans Approved for Settle Business Park

Planning permission has been granted for a sustainable rural business community at the Anley Crag Business Park in Settle which will bring fantastic employment opportunities to the area and allow new and local business to grow and expand.

This is phase 1 of the 150,000 square foot mixed use development by Skipton based property developer Candelisa for the site between the A65 and B6480 and will be used for a full range of work environments in a sustainable business community in a beautiful setting. Over 35 office and commercial units of all types are available from 500 to 6000 square foot and are available to rent or buy. There is also provision for approximately 220 parking spaces set in carefully landscaped wildlife habitats.

Guy Taylor, Candelisa managing director, said: “This is a real boost for the area and the local economy. The employment opportunities the scheme will bring should encourage businesses to remain in the community and talented professionals set up business in this amazing location and help retain the vibrancy of the area and Yorkshire Dales National Park.

“We very much look forward to starting the scheme in the near future and working with local businesses to help bring our exciting vision to fruition.”

Phase 2 will include 41, two and three bedroom new homes, which will provide quality affordable housing and will form part of the overall Anley Crag scheme. The aim is to provide 100 percent freehold housing to the area at genuinely affordable prices, designed to make the most of the government Help to Buy scheme.

“The residential element will help address the chronic shortage of quality housing in the area and we hope our proposals will be looked upon favourably as we finalise the detailed housing design,” said Mr Taylor.

Locally work is commencing on 45 new build houses in Embsay village and Candelisa has reported strong off-plan sales at its Cavendish House development in the centre of Skipton. The former job centre and tax office is being converted into apartments with only 1 remaining.
