‘Out of Scale Monster’ Scheme Sells Out

All 39 residential apartments within the converted former head office of Skipton Building Society, once described by Prince Charles as an “out-of-scale monster”, have sold out in just five weeks, Ilkley based developer Candelisa has said.

The conversion of the Providence Quarter building in Skipton was one of the first schemes in the area to take advantage of “permitted development rights”, a national grant of planning permission which allows certain building works and changes of use to be carried out without the need for a planning application.

Meanwhile, Candelisa has commenced work at a building adjacent to Providence Quarter which it is converting into two and three-bedroom apartments. Caroline House will also incorporate Candelisa’s new head office and is expected to be ready for occupation in July this year.

Providence Quarter and Caroline House are among eight regeneration and new build schemes which Candelisa is scheduled to develop and bring to market in 2015.

The portfolio of future developments includes regeneration projects in Leeds, Skipton, Settle and Haworth, and new-build homes in Skipton and Pendle.
